Kalahandi soon to get a MSME Park

Bhubaneswar, July 27 (KNN) The Odisha Government is planning to establish a Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Park in Kalahandi district.

Keeping focus on local entrepreneurs to grow startup ecosystem in the area, this park would come up, said, Dibya Shankar Mishra, industries and MSME Minister while replying to a query raised in State Assembly by Bhupinder Singh.

For this, a site has been proposed to promote the MSMEs in area. Kesinga is well-connected from means of transportation like, roads and railways which is a suitable place to set up the industries. From the private landowners, the government has acquired nearby 86 acres while 36 acres from its own, said the Minister.

“A total of 3.9 Lakh MSMEs have created 15.29 Lakh job. In the last five years, a total of 1,206 MSMEs were given incentives of 151.82 crores from the State Government. On the policies of youth, State Government is organizing awareness camps as well”, the Minister added.  

Youths are been trained under the entrepreneurship development program. All over the state, 476 branches of banks are noted as MSME branches for the growing entrepreneurs. MSME proposals are being approved by a single window through district-level facilitation centers.
