New Delhi, Feb 14 (KNN) Riding on the wave of a massive mandate to govern Delhi, chief of Aam Aadmi Party, Arvind Kejriwal was sworn in as Chief Minister on Saturday who in his maiden address promised a hassle free business environment in the union territory.

Addressing to the businesses of Delhi - the largest trading and industrial hub in North India, he assured that nobody would interfere in your business but sought their cooperation in payment of taxes.

“We need Tax to build colleges, hospitals, roads and to ensure safety of Delhities”, he said.

Delhi’s trade and industry have a big to-do-list for AAP and easy VAT is on top. Problems of parking for traders in Chandni Chowk and Sadar Bazar in walled city or crumbling infrastructure in the industrial estates, Delhi’s business community has high hopes from AAP.

“The major issues that concern the industries are industrial area infrastructure and taxation. For last 10-15 years, no industrial areas have been developed. New Commercial space should be developed so that new employment opportunities could be created,” said the Federation of Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (FISME).

Speaking to KNN earlier, President of Chandani Chowk Jewellers Association, Surendra Kumar Jain, said that a complicated VAT structure had been a major irritant for the trader community in the capital city. (KNN/AB)
