Key decisions taken during UP’s Udyog Bandhu meet

Lucknow, Aug 3 (KNN) The Uttar Pradesh Government, during its 8th Udyog Bandhu meeting, disposed as many as 51 issues which included some major policy issues for several sectors.

Udyog Bandhu is a state government body responsible for addressing problems of industrialists.  The meeting was presided by Industrial Investment and Development Commissioner and Chief Secretary Anup Chandra Pandey.

The Udyog Bandhu decided on formulation of rules by the state government for No objection certificate by Fire department to cold storage before the issue of license for construction and commissioning of the storage.

For the pharmaceutical industry, the Chief Secretary directed Excise department officials to draft rules for units manufacturing homeopathic and allopathic drugs and using alcohol as raw material. The rules will be drafted under `Medicinal and Toilet (Excise duty) Preparation Act, 1955.

It was also decided to prepare a detailed project report by RITES for the construction of Common Effluent Treatment Plant in Tronica City, Ghaziabad for treatment of sewage before it is flown into Yamuna river.

On June 4, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) had issued notice to UP government and UP State Industrial Development Corporation on a petition filed by Trans-Delhi Signature City Resident Welfare Association seeking directions for the lack of sewage mechanism and disposal of solid municipal waste in Trans-Delhi Signature City in Ghaziabad, earlier known as Tronica City.

A three-member committee comprising of Industrial development, Energy and Finance department will look in to the grievances of electricity equipment manufacturers and supplies of goods to UP Power Corporation Limited about imposition of state GST on goods supplied by them in the state.

The Chief Secretary also directed for speeding up the process of arranging land for a mega food park in Gorakhpur.
