Kutch trade & investment delegation to visit Canada

Ahmedabad, Sept 3 (KNN)  With an objective to enhance trade, partnership, investment and technology transfer, a large delegation comprising as many as 30 companies from the Kutch region are visiting Manitoba in Canada.

The trade and investment mission is scheduled to take place from September-14 to 25 with visits to Winnipeg and Brandon in Manitoba on the agenda.

“Objectives of the visit are to join hands with businesses in Manitoba through several initiatives like joint venture, partnerships, two way investment, imports, exports, technology transfer and many more,” said an official release.
 
The delegates will be exposed to presentations by Manitoba trade and investment, Manitoba Chamber of Commerce, Economic development Winnipeg, World Trade Centre, Manitoba immigration, Tourism Manitoba/Winnipeg, Centre Port, Manitoba Agriculture and Canadian Manufacturers and exporters, it added. 

Sectors represented by the Kutch delegates are mining and mineral processing, engineering equipment, construction machinery, agri business, food processing, real estate, building materials,  raw cotton, steel, cement,  salt production, heavy vehicle manufacturing, transportation, logistics, education, tourism and hospitality.    

The delegation will be led by the President of Chamber of Commerce and Industries in Kutch (CCIK) Rajesh Bhatt and Deputy Mayor of Bhuj, Parakramsinh Jadeja.
 
Plans for the delegation are to visit the Manitoba Government legislature where there is a possibility of meeting the Premier of Manitoba and the Minister of Jobs and Economy, Government of Manitoba, Canada. 
 
They also intend visiting the McCain plant, Simplot, Shape foods, Rana healthcare group and food development centre in Manitoba.  A dinner hosted by the Manitoba Gujarati Samaj for the Kutch delegation in on the cards.
 
Last year the Premier of Manitoba province, Greg Selinger had visited Gujarat and met the then Chief Minister of Gujarat – Narendra Modi. Thereafter, an MOU was signed between the two governments to establish a Food Development Centre at Anand Agriculture University.
 
Following this, a series of roadshows and meetings were organized by Manitoba Trade and Investment and its representative in India – Global Network in Kutch, which then resulted in the formation of the trade and investment delegation with the leadership of Chamber of Commerce and Industries in Kutch (CCIK).  (KNN/ES)
