MAC-GIZ organizes workshop on “Defect free welding” for MSMEs in Aurangabad

New Delhi, Apr 15 (KNN) Marathwada Auto Cluster in association with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH organized one day workshop themed “Towards Defect free Welding Technology” in MAC campus, Waluj, under the innovation project initiated by Ministry of MSMEs and GIZ.

Aurangabad local industrial area houses more than 100 MSMEs that offers welding services and produces parts for automobile companies including Bajaj, Mahindra, and Maruti etc. The workshop was organized to equip these MSMEs with new welding techniques that would help them manufacture defect free welding parts.

Tasvvar Ali, Technical Expert-Auto Sector, GIZ said “Welding have been a challenging area, MSMEs that involves welding process always struggle to produce defect free parts, this workshop was organized to enable the local industries with latest welding technologies”.

The day long workshop was conducted by Ajay Agwan, Senior Faculty member of Indian Institute of Welding technology. Around 50 senior welders, supervisors, middle managers and trainees attended the workshop from different industries in Aurangabad.

During the workshop many basic and advance methods of MIG, TIG, friction welding and general precautions that are required to produce a defect free weld were explained. The participants were also given course material. “Participants were amazed to know the latest technology and instruments used in different welding process, these techniques were demonstrated with live examples and videos“ said Tasvvar.

“Considering the positive response, we look forward to organize similar workshops regularly,” he further added.  (KNN Bureau)
