Maharashtra invites bids for contract of toll collection

Mumbai, May 8 (KNN) The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC)  has invited online bids for contract of toll collection work on a 634 km Kini and 694 km Tasa wada on the National Highway 4, and the toll plaza at the Rajiv Gandhi sea link.

The tolled road will affect the level of heavy traffic on the Mumbai-Chennai corridor and reduce the traveling time of commuters.

MSRDC will be appointing a contractor to collect the user fee from the Kini and Tasa wada at NH 4.  Also, they will be appointing the contractor for the maintenance of the Rajiv Gandhi sea link and toll plaza.

The contract will be given for the period of 156 weekly on a monthly upfront payment basis. For the toll collection contract of NH 4, bidders have to deposit their security money of Rs 50,000.

The estimated realization price of the Kini and Tasa wada project is Rs 444 crores, while that of the Rajiv Gandhi sea link is Rs 265 crores.

NH 4 is a major national highway in western and southern India as it links four of the 10 most populous cities including Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Chennai. NH 4 is 1,235 km in length and passes through the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. (KNN)
