National Indigenous Product Expo underway in Ukhrul, Manipur

Ukhrul, Nov 30 (KNN) A three-day National Indigenous Products Expo is underway at the Town Hall Phungreitang in Ukhrul town of Manipur.
The expo is being organised by Ukhrul Hills Development Foundation (UHDF), funded by PMS Scheme 5B of Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises MSME, Delhi Govt of India through MSME-DFO, Imphal.
As per reports, around 58 stalls are being setup and participants from Ukhrul, Senapati and Imphal are participating in the expo.The expo was inaugurated on Monday by Ukhrul MLA Ramnganing Muivah.
Addressing the occasion, Ningchui G Shatsang Managing Director UHDF & MPI expressed that the main objective of the Expo is to promote local products and upscale local businesses by creating common marketing avenues in order to bring sustainable economic development in the district.
An array of locally made handicrafts, local garments, traditional attire and costumes, furniture, pottery, cane and bamboo products, ornaments and jewellery etc are being put up for sale at the expo.
Key persons present at the inaugural ceremony included MLA Thokchom Radheshyam, former Deputy Speaker MK Preshow Shimray, former MLA candidate Hopingson A Shimray, ADM Ukhrul Chunglenmang Kipgen and Ukhrul CSO leaders. (KNN Bureau)
