Markfed Punjab to set up spice grinding plant in Jalandhar

Chandigarh, June 22 (KNN) Punjab State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation (Markfed) is setting up a modern state-of-art spice grinding plant near Jalandhar for manufacturing of RTE food products.

The spices proposed for grinding are the ones that are most commonly used in preparation of typical ethnic Indian curries. These spices are classified under two groups such as tuber type - available in the shape of tubers of turmeric and ginger or pre-cuts pieces of raw mangos for amchoor and seed type - the spices in shape and size as like that of seeds and include cumin, coriander, fennel and fenugreek.

The processing line will include cleaning, separation, pulverization, sifting and inter stage material handling capacity.

In in regards, the Markfed is inviting bids from the reputed vendors, contractors and fabricators specialised in food processing machinery for design, supply, installation and commissioning on plant machinery.

The selected company will be responsible for tasks such as covering design, supply and installation of spice grinding plant, design, fabrication, sourcing and supply of process plant equipment, all the auxiliary and complementary equipment and interconnections for the process plant machinery, installation and  commissioning of the complete process plant machinery under reference.

It will also provide training to the plant personnel of MARKFED until they are fully trained for independent operation of the system for one month after commissioning; offer continued technical backup for maintenance and trouble shooting for 2 years after commissioning and offer guarantees for the technical quality of the supplies and the performance of the system by way of performance guarantee.

The vendor's scope of work will cover design, sourcing, fabrication, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of all the necessary hardware and software for the process plant machinery. (KNN/ST)
