MSME Institute conducts handloom-handicraft camp in Ludhiana

New Delhi, Oct 11 (KNN) Eyeing at encouraging handlooms and handicrafts in the region Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Institute in association with the textile ministry organized a camp for the handloom and handicraft sector in Ludhiana.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (D) Surabhi Malik who was present at the camp explained that the prime intention behind organizing the camp was to make weavers and artisans aware about the schemes of the government so that they could draw maximum benefits out of these schemes.

He said that both state as well as central government has laid out a number of schemes directed towards the sector, it is essential to impart information to the weavers so that they can make use of these schemes.

An exhibition of the articles prepared by the artisans was also organized during the occasion.

The camp also had a dedicated section on Mudra Yojna in which the weavers and artisans were informed about the scheme.

Also earlier, Ministry of Minority Affairs organized its flagship event “Hunar Haat” in different regions across the country in an attempt to provide market and opportunity to master artisans and craftsmen. (KNN/AG)
