Coimbatore, Nov 5 (KNN) The Union ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) has sanctioned Rs 200 crore to set up a technology centre in the district.

The centre will be set up on a 20-acre land and the project will be facilitated by the branch MSME Development Institute in the city.

As per the media reports, the land will be given free of cost. Once, a team from the ministry will inspect it and finalise it, then for the construction tenders will be called.

MSME associations will be consulted to decide what kind of facilities and machinery are needed. Before this, two such centres were sanctioned, one for Kochi and other for Chennai.
