MSMEs happy with Amma's special measures for flood-hit units

Chennai, Feb 2 (KNN) Tamil Nadu MSMEs have hailed the long awaited measures announced by state Chief Minister J Jayalalitha for the flood-hit units in the state. The industry said, although late, but still it's a welcome move.

Talking to KNN, President of Tamil Nadu Small and Tiny Industries Association (TANSTIA) Mathusami C. said, “We can avail the benefits from these measures for one year now which will definitely help boosting the flood-hit MSMEs again.”

The measures announced the government are appreciated, he added.

He, however, said that some micro industries of the state have not insured their products and some sought of help should be given to them also.

Tamil Nadu Government announced a series of initiatives benefiting the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that were badly affected by torrential rainfall in December last year.

Noting that her government had already announced welfare measures for MSME units affected by floods and heavy rainfall, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa said government would give three per cent subsidy to affected units besides waiving electricity charges to those units that did not operate due to floods.
