MSMEs in Karnataka urge govt to reverse consent fee hike

New Delhi, 5 Nov (KNN) The Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association  (KASSIA) has appealed to the Forest, Ecology & Environment Department to revise the notification announcing the hike in the consent fees.

The State Government of Karnataka has increased the consent fee payable by industries and organizations for establishing, expanding or operating, across slabs and across categories of Red, Orange and Green.

KASSIA is of the opinion that this will severely affect the financial condition of the micro and small scale enterprises.

“MSEs are just beginning to recover from the pandemic environment, hence the state government should desist from hiking any charges which will further keep them under duress and not empower them to come out of their precarious situation,” said the press release.

The association has reached out to the government and requested the administration to defer all proposals for hike in any charges till the economy is fully restored, or at least keep the MSME sector out of the purview of such hike.
