MSMEs in Ludhiana write to Punjab CM Amarinder Singh against Zila Parishad's notice

Ludhiana, Jan 18 (KNN) Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have written a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh against a notice issued by Zila Parishad to pay charges for using road.

''This is first time Zila Parishad issue notice to industrial units. Many industries received notices to pay for using road by them,'' Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) said in a press release on Saturday.

CICU further said that already Industries here have to obtain 23 clearances from a few District Industries Centre, Punjab State Electricity Board, Punjab Pollution Control Board and other departments. Now, another department jumped in.

''Punjab government is trying its level best to bring investment, while on the other hand, nearly 24 department issuing notices to obtain clearance and pay charges,'' it added.

CICU president Upkar Singh Ahuja and Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary, wrote a letter to Capt. Singh and Industry Minister Sunder Sham Arora not to levy these charges.
