Mysore industrial area to become pilot project for power infrastructure

Mysore, Apr 10 (KNN) Power infrastructure including upgradation and modernisation of power supply in the 30 years old Mysore industrial area will be soon taken up as a Pilot Project, said AEE, Electrical, Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB), T Bhaskar.

He was addressing industrialists in an interaction meeting organised by Mysore Industries Association on Thursday.

Bhaskar said the board has proposed to replace all overhead power supply lines into underground cables and installation of transformers adopting modern technology which will facilitate Industrialists to get quality and uninterrupted power supply.

KIADB is also thinking to connect selected bore wells and streetlights with solar power supply, he added.

He also informed that observing the merits and demerits of Pilot Project KIADB will extend to similar type of services to all the industrial areas of Karnataka.

With this upgradation of power infrastructure, Mysore Industrial Area will attract more investments from the global market.

Addressing the meeting, MIA President P Vishwanath stressed that industries don’t demand for subsidy, incentives and concessions if government provides good infrastructure including quality and quantity water and power supply.

He assured KIADB they will extend all support in execution of developmental work of the project.

On this occasion, Vishwanath honoured P Kumar for being elected as director of KASSIA Credit Co-operative Society and N Sathish, Secretary, MIA for leading a 7 Industrialists delegation to Hanover Fair Germany.

Sudheer Shetty of Labland, Srinivas of Brindavan Softdrinks and representatives of Automotive Axes, Rane Madras, Wipro Lighting, S.P.I and other industrialists participated in the interaction meet. (KNN/ST)
