Mysore industries request for effective implementation of sick industry rehabilitation schemes

The Mysore Industries Association (MIA) and Mysore District Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Association met Regional Director, RBI, Bangalore, Eugene E Karthak and Managing Director, SBI of Mysore on Friday.
MIA and MDMSMEA demanded for total effective implementation of MUDRA, CLCSS, CGFT and MSME advances schemes and cluster development.
They also requested for timely and need based finance at competitive, reasonable interest rate and effective implementation of delayed payment act through proper monitoring on medium, large industries, PSU’s and government departments.
MIA also said they are establishing Mysore export centre with the cost of Rs 8 crores.
Earlier, the industry bodies noted that consumer meets of banks really helped MSME’s in a big way.
They said that with all the efforts of RBI and banks only 7 to10 per cent of self-employees, petty business men, SME’s availed bank finance rest are with private money lenders by paying exorbitant interest as per report of National Crimes Records Bureau, nearly 21 per cent of suicides in India are due to finance related issues.
Karnataka Industries Department RTI in a reply said that in last five years only two MSME benefited from state government Sick Industry rehabilitation scheme. Bankers are also responsible for poor performance and implementation this scheme because as per government guidelines, banks had to consider and certify MSME unit as sick industry banks as per RBI guidelines declare NPA and reschedule the installment for repayment.
Most of MSME’s became sick due to under finance or over finance untimely delayed finance along with other issues like power, infrastructure, labor and government policies including diversification of funds by loanee, it said. (KNN Bureau)
