Need to bridge gap between job opportunities in industry & youth seeking job but lacking skills: Fadnavis

Mumbai, Oct 20 (KNN) Highlighting the need to bridge the gap between employment opportunities in industrial sector and youth seeking job but lacking skills, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said his government is working extensively on skill training.

Maharashtra government on Wednesday launched Kaushalya Setu, its skill development programme for students.

CM Fadnavis, Union Minister of State Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge) Rajiv Pratap Rudy and state Education Minister Vinod Tawde were present on the occasion.

Under the Kaushalya Setu initiative, students of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education, who fail to clear Class X or SSC exam, would be accommodated in the skill development courses, so that they do not lose a year.

Addressing the event, Fadnavis said, “Our Skill Sakhi programme got adopted by NITI Aayog and is being replicated in other states too.”

He said Maharashtra will take lead and will remain ahead in fulfilling dream of PM Modi to make India a work force hub for entire world.

Meanwhile, Rudy said, "This is a pilot project and if it is successful, it will change the fortune of the entire country." (KNN Bureau)
