Noida-Greater Noida Authorities to take strict action against inoperative industrial units

Noida, Apr 11 (KNN) After the issue being taken by the MSMEs in Noida and Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh Government has asked Noida and Greater Noida Authorities to take strict action against inoperative industrial units.

There are around 400-450 inoperative industrial units in Noida and Greater Noida.

Talking to KNN, Babu Ram Bhati, Chairman, Indian Industries Association – Greater Noida Chapter, said, “There are around 350-400 non-operations units in Noida and Greater Noida. People have bought these plots just for the sake of investment in land and not for units. They don’t have any intention to set up industry here. They are waiting for the price to surge so that they can get big margin money after selling them.”

Bhati pointed that IIA has been taking up this issue with the state government and they are hopeful that Yogi Adityanath Government will soon take stringent action against the inoperative unit holders.

The The Noida and Greater Noida authorities have been reportedly asked to cancel the allotment of inoperative units and make fresh allotments to stimulate investment in the area.

Noida has about 10,118 industrial units in its area and Greater Noida has 2,471 industrial units most of which are micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The show-cause notices have been issued and physical verification is being carried out by the authorities to ensure these units are not functioning ever since they were allotted land.

Bhati said earlier too the show cause notices were served to them but further action was not taken.

The functional units which have not taken the functional certificate and have got the show cause notice can obtain the certificates by paying a penalty. (KNN Bureau)
