New Delhi, Jan 13 (KNN)  The manufacturing sector in Noida industrial area is facing many problems, with many units unable to function smoothly or produce  to their full capacity owing to heavy load shedding.

Several manufacturing firms have had to shut down operations for several hours a day as there is no electricity at their workshops.

“In some parts of the township, workshop operations have had to shut down every day from 6 am to 9 am due to non-availability of power,” said Secretary General of Noida Entrepreneurs Association VK Seth.

Industrial bodies in the region have accused the electricity department of not taking any action on unauthorised consumers which has impacted the sector to a large extent.

“As some industrial firms are using unauthorised connections, the rest of the sectors are unable to get sufficient power supply,” the secretary said.

Meanwhile, Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) which distributes power in Greater Noida, is planning to purchase power.

The company has invited bids from generators, captive power plants, power traders, state utilities and distributors as service providers.  (KNN/ST)
