Chandigarh, July 20 (KNN) Over two thousand petrol pumps in Haryana have stopped selling petrol and diesel to consumers after petroleum dealers today went on indefinite strike over various demands, including lower VAT on diesel.

All Haryana Petroleum Dealers Association said that as many as 2,310 fuel pumps across the state went on strike from 6 am in the morning. The association said that the petroleum dealers will not buy and sell fuel as per their protest.

Meanwhile, the fuel pumps, which are directly owned by oil companies like Indian Oil, BPCL and HPCL, are open.

Petroleum dealers are upset as the Haryana government failed to keep the tax on diesel lower than that in neighbouring states. They were demanding tax on diesel should be lower by 1-2 per cent than the rates prevailing in neighbouring states. (KNN Bureau)
