Pharma Park to be set up in Mysuru; K’taka to unveil Pharma Policy soon

Mysuru, May 5 (KNN) Karnataka government is planning to come out with its pharma policy to boost the manufacturing of medical equipment in the state, Large and Medium Industries Minister RV Deshpande has said adding that there is also a proposal to start a Pharmacutical Park in Mysuru.

Pointing out that industrialisation is a pre-requisite for the positive growth of the State and the country, Deshpande who also holds the Tourism Portfolio has said that the State Government will start a company to attract investments from the country and abroad.

He was speaking at an Interactive session with the industrialists organised by The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Mysuru in association with Mysore Industries Association (MIA) recently.

Noting that investment by industries holds the key to a nation’s progress Deshpande said that investments will create jobs which in turn results in financial improvisation due to which money flows into the market through various sources.

The Minister also said that the State Government is planning to unveil a Pharma Policy soon which he said will give a boost to manufacturing of medical equipment too.

Speaking of Industrial development in Mysuru he said that there are certain issues that need to be addressed and the same would be done with utmost importance in the Cabinet Meeting as Mysuru has a lot of scope for development areas such as tourism, health, heritage, medicine and other key sectors.

Taking note of the need for establishing a Police Station on Hebbal Industrial belt, he directed the KIADB to allot a CA Site for setting up the same.

He further said that KIADB authorities have been directed to prepare an estimate for development of Belagola, Hebbal, Tandya, Nanjangud and Hootagalli Industrial area and expressed hope that the work on development project will commence in 3-4 months. He called upon the entrepreneurs to set up industries in Immavu Industrial area in Nanjangud Taluk.

MIA General Secretary Suresh Kumar Jain, in his address highlighted a few issues associated with the Industries in and around the city, which need to be addressed at the earliest.
