Puducherry, Aug 23 (KNN) The encouragement by the Puducherry government for manufacturing of e-vehicles, vehicle batteries will promote environment-friendly commutation, new business opportunities and generate employment, Puducherry Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) chairman S Sureender, said on Monday.

The CII chairman said that these steps taken by the Puducherry government will help the UT in its quest to become a welfare state. He also lauded the Union Territory budget, calling it growth-oriented.

"The establishment of a full-fledged online single window system under the Ease of Doing Business Scheme will provide relief to industries here and simplify various approval processes," he said.

A lot of schemes are being launched by the Puducherry government. Its proposal to implement the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) to provide an uninterrupted power supply would pave the way for further modernisation.

Sureender, in a statement, also highlighted the efforts being made by the federation to bridge the skill gap between industries and institutions.  (KNN Bureau)
