Punjab CM directs DCs to clear investment projects up to Rs 10 crore

Chandigarh, July 13 (KNN) Taking another major step forward to boost ease of business with simplified online clearance process, Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh issued directives to empower Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to independently clear investment projects up to Rs 10 crore.

The decision was taken by CM while chairing a meeting with the deputy commissioners to review various programs to chalk out a roadmap to plug gaps in execution of projects in a transparent manner.

The chief minister was told that the investment of Rs 50,000 crore worth of projects has already been made in the state so far.

In an another move, a few days back, Singh reviewed state’s power situation and directed the Chief Secretary to issue detailed guidelines to the district police and civil administration in concerned districts to work with PSPCL to check power theft.

The CM also directed the finance department to clear the PSPCL’s mounting subsidy arrears and the department cleared an amount of Rs 200 crore.

He also directed the finance department to ensure timely release of payment to help the power entity operate without problems. He asked the finance department to ensure the release of subsidy payments at regular intervals.
