Rajasthan Export promotion council likely to debut in July

Jaipur, June 16 (KNN) The government of Rajasthan is expected to announce the Export promotion council next month constituting of government officials and industry leaders.

The formation process of the council is in the final stage, as per media report.

To make efficient strategies to help and support the exporters industrial representatives as well as government officials are expected to members of the council.

Speaking at an event of Federation of Rajasthan Exporters (FORE), Rajiv Arora, President of the industry body said that the constitution of the council will help the exporters find new markets, understand new trends, find ways for the government to resolve their issues, and handhold them to expand their businesses.

Arora who also serves as a Chairman of Rajasthan Small Industries Corporation’s expressed their intent to play an important role in boosting exports infrastructure in the state.

Highlighting the issues of logistics faced by the state owing to its geographical positioning, he said the containers carrying export merchandise from Jodhpur have grown over 50 per cent in 2021-22 to 12,600 from 8,000 in 2020-21.

“There is a need to have an additional Inland Container Depot. We have identified the land and it will be developed soon,” he said.

Emphasising on the opportunities available through e-commerce platforms for exports, Mahavir Sharma, general secretary of FORE, “E-commerce platform for exports are already being used by some manufacturers and they are doing well.”

FORE will create a bridge between the online platforms and exporters to boost exports from Rajasthan, he said. (KNN Bureau)
