RIICO begins land allotment in nine industrial areas across Rajasthan
Jaipur, Dec 7 (KNN) The Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation Limited (RIICO) begins land allotment in 9 industrial areas out of the 25 announced by chief minister Ashok Gehlot at the ‘Invest Rajasthan’ summit in October this year.
The Industrial development cooperation had recently begun the process to allot land to successful bidders who had participated in the e-auction.
“In the nine new industrial areas, 85 plots have already been allotted to various entrepreneurs,” a senior official of RIICO said.
The nine zones are Abu Road, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Bhiwadi, Jaipur, Kota and Sawai Madhopur. The reserve price rage from Rs 800 to over 90000 per sq mtr.
As per reports, RIICO will further launch another 11 new industrial areas by the third of week December taking the total to 20 out of the 25.
While announcing the new industrial areas, the chief minister had said that the government is keen to have such industrial zones in every sub-division.
“Having industrial zones in every sub-division will make growth inclusive. If there are industrial clusters in every district, the local people will not migrate for jobs and livelihood,” he said.
So far, this financial year, RIICO has allotted 660 plots to entrepreneurs even after selling a record number of plots last year.
Recently, RIICO has launched a scheme to make direct land allotment without auction to local entrepreneurs. Some segments of the industry were of the view that the state government should facilitate them as they are small and cannot compete in the auction to buy land. Through the special scheme, the entrepreneurs would be allotted land in select few industrial areas with fixed rates. (KNN Bureau)
