New Delhi, June 18 (KNN) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has advised the Delhi industries to prepare themselves for some “tough decisions” on the environmental front to combat air pollution.

Addressing the managing committee of the PHD Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said, “Pollution is not just about industries. It is about the future of our family and children. We are ready to take some tough decisions… you should be ready for that.”

Sisodia also stressed upon the government's resolve to do away with 'licence raj' and implement a new policy.

"Annual renewal of licence is the biggest source of corruption. We can replace it through the introduction of annual fees. A committee has been formed in this regard which will submit its report by July 31," he said.

PHD Chamber President Alok B Shriram submitted a detailed proposal to the Deputy Chief Minister in which the abolition of Bombay Welfare Fund was sought so as to ensure that industry is not harassed as the "fund has hardly serve its purpose". (KNN Bureau)
