Reserve Bank organizes Town Hall on MSMEs in Nagaland

New Delhi, May 12 (KNN) The Reserve Bank of India recently organized a Town Hall on the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) at Longkumer Kilem, Mokokchung in the north-eastern state of Nagaland.

The main aim was to attend to the issues related to the MSMEs and take into account the concerns of the sector.

There were over 150 participants at the meeting comprising of entrepreneurs and women self-help groups (SHG).

Key officials in the event were Andaman Kumar, Deputy General Manager of RBI in Guwahati, Sushil Kumar Patel, Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung. Officials from MSMEDI, DICC, Canara bank, and SIDBI and branch heads of other banks were also present.

There was a presentation on the findings of a survey conducted among the entrepreneurs in the region. The survey explored the issues and difficulties faced by the MSMEs. Another presentation highlighted the ways in which revival and rehabilitation of MSMEs could be facilitated.

Also an interactive session between banking officials and entrepreneurs took place to  better connect the two stakeholders.

Officials from banks assured the MSMEs at the event that they will continue to contribute to the growth of the sector by extending credit whenever requires. Also a few loan sanctions were distributed to the MSMEs at the Town Hall. (KNN/ DA)
