SIPCOT to improve Nilakottai industrial area in TN

Chennai, Feb 13 (KNN) State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited (SIPCOT) is planning to scale up its industrial complex in Nilakottai by strengthening infrastructure such as roads, buildings, drains, etc.
It has allocated Rs 732.35 lakhs to carry out strengthening and improvement of existing roads, formation of a 15 metre wide road, construction of RCC box culverts, reconstruction of existing drain, construction of administrative office building, providing street lights, water supply distribution main at Zone II area in its complex at Nilakottai.
In this context, it has invited bids from registered contractors of PWD highways, national highways, TWAD/CMWSSB, etc to implement the project.
State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Ltd (SIPCOT) was established in the year 1971 to develop industrial growth in Tamil Nadu. To give main thrust to area development activities, the organization involves in the formation of industrial complexes by providing basic and comprehensive infrastructure facilities for the industries to set up their units. SIPCOT has so far developed 19 Industrial Complexes in 12 districts and Seven Sector Specific Special Economic Zones (SEZs) across Tamil Nadu. SIPCOT also acts as a Nodal Agency of Government of Tamil Nadu in the sanction / disbursement of Structured Package of Assistance to large industrial units.
To ensure a good impact with the available limited resources, SIPCOT has created Industrial Complexes and Parks, strategically located in nineteen places and twelve Districts, which occupy a place of pride in the State's industrial map. (KNN/ES)
