New Delhi, Nov 6 (KNN) The first of its kind, an all women cluster under the name of “SWADES”  Soul Women Artistic & Designing Entrepreneurs Society has been formed, to promote more than 20, 000 women entrepreneurs working as designers and artisans into manufacturing of suits, paintings, sculptures and other products.

As per the data collected by the Federation of Punjab Small Industries Association (FOPSIA), there is a market of around 50000 crores of Ladies Suits, Kurta’s, Designer wears in Punjab. There is huge potential of exports of such goods to overseas also.  This cluster will provide direct and indirect employment to more than one Lakh employees in state.

FOPSIA included more than 500 such women entrepreneurs in this cluster. The cluster will have 30 Executive Members in each district.

The cluster will adopt the schemes of Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) & Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) to setup projects in Punjab. The branches of this society will be opened in all the districts and the target of government subsidy will be more than 100 crores.

The organisation is in process to form women cluster for designer wears and bags of various materials such as jute and woven bags. The cluster will also take the benefit of all government subsidy schemes, the approximate employment generation of this cluster will be more than 10000 women workers in the state of Punjab.

Mandeep Singh Functional manager District Industries Center (DIC) briefed about the policies of the state government in regard to promotion of clusters while S B Singh explained the working of these clusters.

The meeting saw, Swarn Saggu, Shardha Jindal, Reena Verma, Neeru Sharma, Neena Jindal, Charanjit Kaur, Hema, Vanshika Garg, Siya Sharma,  Anu Sharma, Harmanjit  Kaur, Anju Joshi, Pawan Batra.
