Hyderabad, July 29 (KNN) The Government of Telangana has renewed the permission for retail establishments in the state to be open for 365 days via a notification.

In a notification issued by Government of Telangana, it stated “After careful examination of the matter hereby decide to extend the permission to all Shops & Establishments to keep open on all the days of the year in Telangana State for a further period of three (3) years w.e.f. 16.06.2019, subject to certain condition.”

Hailing the move, Retailers Association of India (RAI), on behalf of the entire retail fraternity, thanked the State Government of Telangana for considering its submission and encouraging Ease of Doing Business in the state.

"The exemption from weekly closure will not only be beneficial for retailers to achieve their true potential but will also offer consumers the luxury of 365 days of shopping," said Kumar Rajagopalan, Chief Executive Officer of the Retailers Association of India (RAI), in a statement.

"In addition, this decision will also help the state economy by creating more employment in the sector," he said.

The notification contains long list of condition which includes, working hours of shop (b/w 9.00 A.M. to 11.00 P.M); working hours of the employees (8 hours per day and 48 hours in a week); record of over time; weekly holiday to every employee; transport arrangements for women employees working beyond 8:30 P.M. etc.
