Telangana launches India’s first social innovation centre in Nizamabad to boost rural entrepreneurship

Hyderabad, Feb 6 (KNN) India’s first social innovation centre called ‘The Kakatiya Hub for Social Innovation’, which would work as a rural incubator, has been launched by Telangana Government in Nizamabad.

The hub aims at promoting entrepreneurship at the grassroots level especially in the rural and semi-urban areas.

Making the announcement on Sunday, Telangana IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan said the ‘Kakatiya Hub For Social Innovation’ funded by the Telangana government and implemented through Kakatiya Sandbox will function like a rural incubator to encourage entrepreneurship at the grassroots level.

He was addressing at the one-day Development Dialogue, an international social entrepreneurship ecosystem conference hosted by Kakatiya Sandbox.

He said, “There are a large number of problems to be solved in rural areas and the people who are familiar with them should be in the best position to solve the problems. However, rural entrepreneurs need a structured guidance and an incubator is the best way of providing a necessary ecosystem and support to them.”

Ranjan said the government will ensure that the rural incubator in Telangana will be run exactly in the same way as any other high-end incubator like the T-Hub in Hyderabad.
