There wasn't much takeaways for MSME from Uttrakhand Industrial Summit: UIA

New Delhi, Sep 30 (KNN) Uttrakhand Industries Association (UAI) President Pankaj Gupta on Monday said that there wasn't much takeaways for the Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) in the  two-day Uttarakhand Industrial summit-2019 that ended in Haridwar on Saturday.

While speaking to KNN India, Gupta said, '' I won't say that there was much takeaways for the MSMEs as far as MSMEs are concerned because there are still issues regarding the MSMEs. The large industries are not ready to purchase materials from MSMEs, the targets that are supposed to be met are still incomplete.''

''The state government's purchase policy has not been fully implemented in the state. So, there are issues, which the summit failed to address it,'' he said.

Commenting on the tool room in Sitarganj, he said, '' The problem with the tool room is very far off, it should have been in centre like in Haridwar or in Risihikesh. Nobody, till date has told us that what is there in the tool room, what kind of machines are coming up and what supports will be provided to us.''

On being asked that in future will UAI address this issue, he replied, '' Definitely, i will be taking it up to the concern people. We don't even know that how much it is complete and how much it is not.''

While answering a question over government procurement policy, he said that they are not following procurement policy and not purchasing to that figure what procurement policy states, '' That is the biggest problem''
