Tripura Govt inks eight MoUs worth Rs 312 Cr in multiple sectors

Agartala, May 4 (KNN) With the aim to provide a major boost to the state’s industrial sector, the Tripura government has signed eight agreements worth Rs 312.38 crores.

As per reports, the signed MoUs belong to various sectors in the state, including rubber, bamboo, agriculture, and health services.

The MoUs were signed at a state-level investment round table meeting held on Tuesday, where the state Chief Minister Manik Saha met the investors and industrialists from different parts of the country and apprised them of the state’s various policies. 

Speaking on the occasion, Saha said, “The state government is providing an investment subsidy, a 15 per cent procurement subsidy, an industrial promotions subsidy, a power subsidy, partial reimbursement of interest on term loans, one-time full reimbursement of standard certificate charges or fees and many more incentives to attract industry and businesses in Tripura.”

The round table was held as a prelude to the forthcoming Northeast Global Investors Summit to be held in Delhi in August–September this year to attract investment for the northeastern region.

The focus sectors of the summit include tourism and hospitality, agro-food processing, textiles, handloom and handicrafts, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, education and skill development, information technology and services, entertainment, sports, tea, and energy, among others.  (KNN Bureau)
