UP Govt aims to create 90 lakh MSME jobs

Lucknow, May 11 (KNN) The Uttar Pradesh (UP) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has that ninety lakh people could get employment if one job is added to the workforce of each of the existing 90 lakh micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the state.

The Chief Minister also directed officials to organised loans fairs between May 12 and May 15 in each district. Banks have been directed to provide loans on easy terms.

Adityanath on Sunday asked officials to prepare a “detailed action plan" to motivate entrepreneurs to set up new MSME units.

Despite the recession, MSME sector has contributed significantly to the growth of per capita income of the state in the last three years, adding that ''We will further increase the income through this.”

Recently, in a bid to ease out labour related problems for the MSMEs in the state, Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh (UP) government has suspended almost all Labour Laws for the next three years.

'The nation-wide lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic has slowed the pace of industrial and economic activities in the state, which has also impacted the welfare of labourers and that makes this ordinance necessary,'' said UP government in a statement.

"For encouraging new investments, setting up new industrial infrastructure and benefit of existing industries and factories, it is imperative that they are provided temporary exempted from the existing labour laws in the state. Therefore, it is important that existing labour laws in Uttar Pradesh are relaxed for a period of three years. To this end 'Uttar Pradesh Temporary Exemption from Certain Labour Laws Ordinance, 2020' has been introduced," the statement added.
