Panaji, Apr 30 (KNN)  The US Consulate is organising a meeting for tourism stakeholders who provide various services to US citizens during their stay in Goa so that they can improve assistance and service delivery.

The meeting will be held on May-2 at the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry Convention Hall here.

“Every year thousands of US citizens come to Goa to enjoy the state's pristine beaches, lush scenery, historic sights and nightlife. A vast majority of these tourists return home with a camera full of priceless memories and plans to return. Occasionally however a traveller experiences a problem and requires assistance,” the US Consulate said.

The Consulate's American Citizen Services Unit offers a wide array of consular services to help US citizens.  But before they approach  the US  Consulate  for help, they turn to  local   tourism industry professionals  in  Goa  who  often  give them  fine service and assistance, it added.

The  proposed  meeting  on  will provide information about how  tourism  service providers can contact the Consulate after office  hours and what information and assistance  they  can provide  to  US citizens who fall sick, lose their passports, or experience other difficulties.  (KNN/ES)
