eShram Portal registers highest unorganised workers from UP at 8.29 cr

New Delhi, Dec 30 (KNN) About 8,29,86,177 unorganized workers from state of Uttar Pradesh have been registered on eShram Portal which is the highest among all states an UTs.

According to the Year End Review 2022 released by Ministry of Labour and Employment on Thursday the overall registrations of unorganised workers on eShram Portal till December 28, 2022 is 28,50,05,048 ( 28.50 crore).

Following UP, Bihar (2.85 crore), West Bengal (2.57 crore), Madhya Pradesh (1.68 crore) and Maharashtra (1.33 crore) are the states with the highest registrations.

The Portal was launched on August 26, 2021 and within a span of approximately 16 months only more than 28.50 crore workers have been registered.

It allows registration in 400 different occupations under 30 broad occupation sectors.

A full-fledged Call Centre for eShram has been established which is operational 365 days a year and provides support in 8 regional languages in addition to Hindi & English, said the report.

A comprehensive grievance handling mechanism is in place which is available 365 days a year.

About 2.7 lakh candidates have undergone training under the Career Skills training of “TCS iON” Program on NCS portal and 2297 Job Fairs have been organized so far by Model Career Centres in different states under the NCS Scheme.  (KNN Bureau)
