The event, themed ‘Heritage, Development and Global Possibilities’, brought together industry leaders, academics and policymakers to discuss ways to boost exports, support artisans and improve the region’s industrial competitiveness.

Schemes such as One District One Product (ODOP), the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana and common facility centres were highlighted as important mechanisms for modernising traditional industries and improving manufacturing capabilities.
Participants also stressed the importance of maintaining law and order, ensuring transparent governance and strengthening digital public services to create a business-friendly environment.

Speakers also called for greater participation of women in the handicrafts sector, along with improved access to skill development, training and digital marketplaces for women artisans.
