Gautam Buddh Nagar accounts for quarter of investment mobilized in UP Global Summit’23; renewable energy leads in sectors
Lucknow, Feb 14 (KNN) Gautam Buddh Nagar (27%), a part of Delhi NCR, Agra (7.5%) and Lucknow (6.7%) are the top three districts which managed to attract major chunk of investments at the recently held Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit (UPGIS) 2023 in Lucknow.
The list is followed by Eastern districts Gorakhpur and Varanasi with 5.9 per cent and 4.7 per cent share in the investment pool, respectively.
Other districts that have received investment proposal are Jhansi (4.7%), Ghaziabad (3.6%), Sonbhadra (2.5%), Shahjahanpur (2.3%), Mirzapur (2.2%), Chitrakoot (2.1%) and Kanpur Nagar (1.9%).
The total investment is tallied at Rs 33.50 lakh crore offering 93.82 lakh employment generation.
In view of sectors, renewable energy bagged the highest investment at 15 per cent, followed by electronic manufacturing (12%), industrial parks (11%), higher education (9%) and manufacturing (7%).
Western region of Uttar Pradesh saw maximum investment at Rs 14.81 lakh crore followed by Eastern region with Rs 9.54 lakh crore investment.
Bundelkhand and Central region garnered equal investment proposals worth Rs 4.27 lakh crore. (KNN Bureau)
