MeitY Approves Rs 417?Cr Electronics Manufacturing Cluster In NOIDA, Uttar Pradesh
Noida, Jun 26 (KNN) The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) approved the development of an Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) in Gautam Buddh Nagar, with an outlay of Rs 417 crore on Wednesday.
The initiative aims to strengthen electronics production and drive innovation in northern India.
The project, spanning 200 acres, will be developed by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) and is expected to attract investments worth Rs 2,500 crore.
The Uttar Pradesh government will play a central role in its implementation, with ministry officials directed to work closely with state counterparts to fast-track the cluster’s development.
Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw said the new cluster would create world-class infrastructure and generate approximately 15,000 jobs.
Strategically located, the cluster will be connected by road, rail, and air through the Yamuna Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway, the upcoming Palwal-Khurja Expressway, and the Jewar International Airport.
The EMC will support manufacturing in diverse segments including consumer electronics, automotive and industrial electronics, medical devices, computer hardware, and communication equipment.
Startups and MSMEs will gain access to global-standard manufacturing infrastructure, thereby enhancing their competitiveness and reducing time-to-market.
The integrated cluster will also offer significant operational advantages such as reliable power and water supply, sewage treatment, housing for workers, skill development centres, and healthcare facilities—helping reduce costs and improving ease of doing business.
Its proximity to other industrial zones like the Medical Device Park, MSME and Apparel Park, and the Aviation Hub will further enhance its ecosystem value.
