Noida Authority To Develop 15 Model Roads To Ease Congestion, Improve Air Quality
Noida, Aug 24 (KNN) The Noida Authority plans to develop 15 model roads across the city to ease traffic congestion and improve air quality, with the busiest roads across different work circles identified for the project.
The roads will be redesigned to improve traffic movement and civic convenience, with a focus on removing roadside encroachments and regulating haphazard parking. The initiative is also expected to help reduce road dust.
Dedicated Spaces for Vendors, Auto-Rickshaws
Under the plan, dedicated spaces will be created for street vendors, while separate areas will be designated for auto-rickshaws and tempos.
The Authority expects the designated spaces to reduce random parking and roadside encroachments and improve traffic flow.
Pedestrian Facilities to Be Improved
The model road project will also include facilities for pedestrians. Seating arrangements and mobile charging points are proposed within green belts along the roads to improve convenience for pedestrians and other road users.
Noida Authority General Manager (Civil) SP Singh said dust-free zones would be developed on both sides of the model roads. The designs for the roads have already been prepared, he said.
Dust-Free Zones to Support Air Quality
The Authority said unorganised parking, roadside vendors and parked auto-rickshaws and tempos often obstruct traffic movement.
Providing designated spaces for these activities is expected to improve traffic management and reduce congestion.
The development of dust-free zones is also aimed at limiting roadside dust and contributing to improved air quality.
The initiative is part of the Authority's efforts to improve traffic management, pedestrian convenience and environmental conditions across Noida.
