PM Modi to inaugurate two solar power plants in Varanasi on March 24

Varanasi, Mar 21 (KNN) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate two solar power plants at Jal-Kal’s Bhelupur campus and Konia sewage pumping station in Varanasi on March 24, 2023.

Speaking to TOI, UP Jal Nigam’s executive engineer (urban) Shahroz Dost said, “Jal-Kal’s WTP consumes 24,000 units per day and Konia station consumes 10,000 units. The solar power plants at Jal-Kal has capacity of 2.2 MW and Konia stations plant of 0.8 MW energy capacity. Power generated from these plants would reduce the consumption of 9,000 units per day of Jal-Kal while 3,300 units would be saved at Konia station.”

“The two solar plants will help save over one-third power cost per day and power generated by their solar plants would be supplied to the grid of electricity department and not consumed directly by the WTP or the sewage pumping station,” he said.

The two solar plants are among the 20 ready projects to be inaugurated by the PM on March 24.

DM S Rajalingam on Monday inspected the Jal-Kal campus, where solar power plant of Rs 17.24 crores had been established.

The foundation of this project was laid by the PM on July 15, 2021.  (KNN Bureau)
