Lucknow, Dec 6 (KNN) Uttar Pradesh’s Finance Minister Suresh Khanna and Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ will spearhead the UP delegation to the World Economic Forum (WEF) at Davos, Switzerland, in January.

The annual global event is slated to be held from January 15-19, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has nominated the two ministers to represent Uttar Pradesh, reported TOI.

A senior official said that “recognising UP’s economic and industrial growth over the past few years”, the state has been invited to participate in the event.

They will be accompanied by infrastructure and industrial development commissioner Manoj Kumar Singh and secretary to the CM, Amit Singh.

“The World Economic Forum is one of the most prestigious events held across the world and this visit will not only provide an opportunity to showcase the strengths, attributes and achievements of UP on a global platform but will also give a platform to the delegation to interact with influential decision makers and enhance the prestige of the state,” said the official.

The state delegation has been tasked with highlighting the improvements in UP over the past six and a half years, with a focus on the state’s economic and industrial development. The official said that by creating confidence among investors from all over the world, they can be attracted towards UP.
