UP Govt Approves Expansion Of Drone Production In Noida, Clears Rs 101 Cr Land Sale For UAV Unit
Lucknow, July 23 (KNN) In a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at Lok Bhawan on Tuesday, the Uttar Pradesh government approved key proposals aimed at boosting industrial growth and reshaping youth welfare initiatives.
A significant decision was made to facilitate the expansion of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and drone production in Noida.
The Cabinet approved the sale of 4.62 hectares of land belonging to Parag Dairy to Rafe M Fiber, the company that has already established a UAV manufacturing unit in Sector 81, Noida.
The land, under the jurisdiction of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, will be sold for Rs 101 crore.
Rafe M Fiber has invested around Rs 800 crore in plant and machinery for the production of UAVs, engines, payloads, and related systems for use by the Indian Armed Forces and police.
The expansion is expected to generate new employment opportunities, while the company will also provide an additional Rs 10 crore to Parag Dairy as part of the agreement.
In another key move, the government has approved a policy shift under the Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme.
Meritorious students will now receive free tablets instead of smartphones.
The decision, aimed at enhancing educational utility, replaces a previously approved plan from January that allocated Rs 2,493 crore for the procurement of 25 lakh smartphones.
The new allocation sets aside Rs 2,000 crore in the current fiscal year to provide tablets, each costing approximately Rs 12,456.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved the allotment of 10 acres of land within the industrial authority’s jurisdiction for a new dairy plant.
With the consent of the Pradesh Cooperative Dairy Federation (PCDF), a dairy facility with a four lakh litre daily processing capacity will be set up on the site. The project is expected to take two years to complete.
