Lucknow, June 8 (KNN) The Uttar Pradesh government is working on a new policy to promote Manufactured Sand units and is considering providing industry status to all the ‘M-Sand’ units in the state.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led state administration also proposes to give the benefit of MSME to these units.

This step is expected to encourage entrepreneurs to manufacture Manufactured Sand (M-Sand).

Additionally, fixed power costs and mineral royalties are also being considered for M-Sand units.

The new policy will promote alternatives to river sand used in construction work and curb illegal sand mining.

The final draft of the M-Sand Policy will be prepared after considering the suggestions received from the stakeholders and will be implemented in the state after getting approval from the cabinet.  (KNN Bureau)
