Kolkata, May 21 (KNN)  MSMEs in West Bengal can breathe a sigh of relief now that the state government is likely to lift the ban on mutation and conversion of land at Sankrail Industrial Park (formerly Jalan Industrial Park) and Jalan Industrial Complex at Jangalpur.

“…the State Government is now on the verge of lifting the ban imposed in 2007 on mutation and conversion of land at both the estates. The ban adversely affected the working of the units especially with regard to securing bank loans and government incentives as well as obtaining pollution clearance among other things,” said secretary, Federation of Small and Medium Industries (FOSMI), H Ganguly.

Significantly, the lifting of the ban would have a massive and positive effect on more than eight hundred MSMEs investing about Rs 9000 crore and employing about one lakh employees, he said.

FOSMI which has taken up this long pending issue with the government is delighted that they efforts have paid off.  (KNN/ES)
