Kolkata, Aug 17 (KNN) West Bengal Government has allocated a total of Rs 13,000 crore for developing nine Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) industrial parks in Howrah district.

This was announced by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, while inaugurating and laying foundation stones of nine industrial parks for MSMEs in Howrah.

Declaring the projects would generate nearly two lakh jobs, she said “A total of Rs 13,000 crore would be invested in these parks and two lakh employment opportunities would be created.”

Asserting that Bengal is a safe place for industry, Banerjee said, “Bengal is a safe place for industry; that’s why companies like Wipro and Microsoft are setting up bases here.”

Banerjee also stressed on revamping the existing single window system of the state government.

"There should be a nodal officer and officials of the government departments to expedite projects. The mechanism should be extended to the district levels also," Banerjee said emphasizing on quick issuance of fire license and other necessary clearances for business ventures.
