With Rs 1.25 Lakh Cr Investment In Pipeline Gujarat Emerging As Semiconductor & Electronics Hub
Gandhinagar, Oct 10 (KNN) Minister of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday highlighted Gujarat’s emerging role as a key driver of India’s development in semiconductors, electronics manufacturing, modern logistics, and clean energy.
Gujarat is a hub of semiconductors, electronics and logistics, which will make India a leader in the direction of making it a developed nation by 2047, he said, according to a release by the Ministry of Railways.
The Minister noted that Rs 1,25,000 crore has been invested in Gujarat’s semiconductor and electronics ecosystem, citing major projects such as Tata Electronics in Dholera, Micron in Sanand, and plants of CG Power and KEC, according to ANI.
The strong supply chain has attracted approximately 30 Japanese companies that provide ultra-pure chemicals, gases, and substrates, thereby boosting quality standards in sectors such as pharmaceuticals and chemicals.
He added that proposals worth Rs 1,15,000 crore have been received under the Central Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme.
Skill development initiatives are underway at Ganpat University and more than 12 colleges, providing training on advanced semiconductor tools and 5G labs, creating a full value chain from talent development to manufacturing.
