Kolkata, May 8 (KNN) The World Bank is conducting a survey on MSME units in West Bengal in the districts in and around Kolkata.

The survey is to focus mainly upon the use of inland waterways for transport of raw materials and finished goods by MSMEs and also on the commonly used methods of transportation and other logistics related issues.

In this regard, two meetings are scheduled to be organised on May 8 and May 11, 2017 respectively with the officials of World Bank and Ernst & Young.

During the meeting an open session interaction will be held with the MSME units to focus upon important issues of the MSME sector relating to transport and logistics.

The Federation of Small and Medium Industries (FOSMI) have sought suggestions from its member MSME units and other MSMEs as well to help World Bank in effective planning leading to future growth and expansion of this sector. (KNN Bureau)
