YEIDA proposes Skill Center to boost employability of Rural Youth
New Delhi, Apr 12 (KNN) The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has proposed a skill development institute that would aim to train the rural youth of the region.
According to media reports Arunvir Singh, CEO, YEIDA said “The Authority proposed the project in the 100-day plant sent to the UP CM Yogi Aditya Nath earlier this month.
According to Singh, the training centre will be set up in Sector 33 of YEIDA area. “We have earmarked around one acre of land for the project, which will be supported by the National Productivity Council of India” he said. He further added that the project will be completed in about 18 months. As of now YEIDA is waiting for a formal go-ahead from the state government.
Highlighting the importance of the centre, YEIDA exhorted that the lack of trained labour is a big issue for entrepreneurs coming to the region "The launch of a skill development centre will address the problem as it will impart vocational skills tailor-made for industries and make youth fit for immediate absorption” the CEO added. "Youth will be imparted skills in various disciplines — from handling to working in floor shops and other skills needed for the manufacturing sector," he explained. (KNN/ DA)
