Piyush Goyal Holds High-Level Singapore Meetings to Deepen Economic Ties

New Delhi, Aug 21 (KNN) Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal held a series of high-level bilateral and business engagements in Singapore on August 20 to strengthen India-Singapore cooperation in trade, investment and technology.

Goyal called on Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and participated in the 4th India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR) and India-Singapore Business Roundtable (ISBR), where the two sides discussed ways to expand bilateral economic cooperation. An MoU signing ceremony followed the meetings.

The Minister also held Government-to-Business (G2B) meetings with the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN) and Keppel Infrastructure, focusing on agri-exports, GCC-based commercial parks, fintech and sustainable infrastructure.

He jointly visited an APEDA-FairPrice initiative at City Square Mall with Singapore's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Trade & Industry Gan Siow Huang, highlighting efforts to expand Indian agri-food exports and market linkages.

Goyal later participated in the India-Singapore Business Forum organised by FICCI at the INSEAD Asia Campus.

The ministerial roundtable was attended by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Minister of State for Commerce Jitin Prasada, and senior ministers from Singapore.
