Centre Assures Support For MSME Technology Centre In Mizoram

Aizwal, Jul 4 (KNN) The Union government has assured Mizoram of support for establishing an MSME Technology Centre in the state to promote skill development, entrepreneurship and industrial growth.

Centre Assures Support for MSME Technology Centre

The assurance was given by Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Jitan Ram Manjhi during a meeting with Mizoram's Minister for Labour, Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Lalnghinglova Hmar in New Delhi.

According to an official statement, Manjhi said the Ministry of MSME would extend the necessary support once the state government completes the required proposals and formalities for setting up the centre, reported PTI.

Mizoram Highlights MSME Potential

Highlighting the importance of the MSME sector in Mizoram, Hmar said the majority of enterprises in the state fall under the MSME category and provide employment to a large number of young people.

He noted that Mizoram has one of the highest proportions of working-age youth in the country, creating significant potential for MSME-led industrial development.

Hmar also informed the Union minister that several MSME-related initiatives have been incorporated under the state's flagship Bana Kaih (handholding) scheme.

Centre Reiterates Commitment to MSME Growth

The Union minister appreciated the state's efforts towards youth development and reiterated the Centre's commitment to supporting MSME growth in Mizoram.

During his visit to New Delhi, Hmar also held meetings with senior officials from the Ministries of Tourism, Minority Affairs and Youth Affairs and Sports, as well as the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), to review tourism, sports infrastructure and skill development initiatives in the state.
